node.js crashing apache and removing wordpress script(?)

Hi there,

I've done it again.

I wanted to dabble with node.js and tried to install the script on my domain okat.nl . After installation, I was pointed to the install directoryokat.nl/node.js/, which was empty or not found. Don't remember which one, but it didn't work. After that I noticed my domain websites sites went blank. I restarted the Apache service, but that resulted in webmin/virtualmin being completely inaccessible. After manually rebooting. Webmin/virtualmin was accessible again, I uninstalled the node.js script which seemed the culprit and went to test my websites. On one (different domain from node.js setup) the wordpress script was missing and the website unavailable. I tried to reinstall the wordpress script, hoping I would keep all data, since I noticed the database was still there, but can't because the wordpress install script is complaining wordpress is still installed. (Which is correct since I did not uninstall it)

Please help getting my wordpress site back and getting node.js installed.

I have no idea how or what I did wrong.

Best regards, Okat

Howdy -- when you say that the website running WordPress is unavailable, what is happening exactly?

Are you receiving an error message of some kind when trying to view the website?

Also, are you still seeing the WordPress files in the directory it's installed into?

That is, whatever directory it was installed into within public_html or a sub-folder, you should be able to see the WordPress files installed there.

Hi Eric,

http://www.dayofnodefeat.nl

By now i've got a "403" error, which I'm trying to solve. With no luck, I must say.

Yes, The files are all there. Index.php is in place with proper permissions as far as I can tell. 0644. The database still has tables.

I assume this all happened when I installed the node.js script, but can't be 100% sure. Didn't check the sites before installing it.

Regards, Okat

Are you seeing an entry in $HOME/logs/access_log for this particular domain when trying to access it?

/var/log/virtualmin/domainname_access.log There are no entries since yesterday.

157.55.39.237 - - [26/Jan/2017:22:08:27 +0100] "GET / HTTP/1.1" 200 6309 "-" "Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; bingbot/2.0; +http://www.bing.com/bingbot.htm)"

Is the last one. I assume it does not register me trying to access the site.

Might very well be. Might not be related to the node.js thing at all. Since I still haven't got the https part going, I've been messing around with (virtual) ip's. Maybe I did something wrong there.

Will follow the instructions from the link
