DBI Connect fails when setting a password for mysql in the wizard script

When I set a password for mysql server in the post-installation wizard, I receive the following error:

DBI connect failed : Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password NO)

the password is already set though and if I click on the Return button, it shows the password in the box and if I click on Next it passes and doesnt return any error.

tested on fresh centos 7 installation.

tested on another centos 7 server, this is indeed a bug in the wizard script

OK, I see the cause of this - it will be fixed in the next Virtualmin release.
